TorrentPlayer 0.3.2: Complete Files and Library Cleanup

To find a downloaded video or audio file, open Files, choose its torrent, and press Copy path beside Play. Paste that location into your file manager or another media player. You can also select the file and copy the full Saved file location from the preview panel.

Download TorrentPlayer 0.3.2 for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Completed downloads become normal media files

The automatic engine saves each fully downloaded video or audio file with its original name, format, and bytes, including the audio tracks already inside a video. It does not transcode the saved file. One lecture can finish saving while the rest of its course is still downloading.

The usual download folder is TorrentPlayer inside your system's Downloads folder. On Linux, that is normally ~/Downloads/TorrentPlayer. Open Settings → Downloads & storage to see and copy the current folder, which can be different if you moved Downloads or chose another location.

With the automatic engine, complete files are under torrentplayer-swarm/<torrent hash>/files/<original file path> inside that folder. The pieces.dat and pieces.idx files remain as the cache used for playback and sharing. Both the normal media files and cached pieces count toward the storage limit.

Copy path appears when the file is ready

You can start playing a magnet link before the whole media file has downloaded. Copy path stays hidden while the file is incomplete or being saved, then appears automatically, including on rows you have not selected.

Long saved paths keep their copy button inside the preview panel. If saving fails, select the file to read its status; the app retries automatically.

Remove library torrents and their downloaded data

In Library, press Remove torrent and review the confirmation before choosing Remove and delete downloads. This stops playback of that torrent and removes its queue entries, history, saved files, and cached pieces from the active download folder.

Removal applies to the whole torrent because its files share one piece cache. The queue's Remove action unqueues an item; use the Library action when you want to delete its downloaded data too. If another program holds a saved file open, close it and retry. The library entry is kept when deletion fails.

Queue bars show the downloaded sections

The green sections in each queue row now match the downloaded chunks and gaps in the player's seek bar. The percentage still shows the total downloaded amount. A file can be ready to start playback while later sections are still missing.

The manual queue introduced in 0.3.1 continues to follow your order: choose when to play the next item, pause downloads, or sort the queue.

Updating

Get the installer for your system from the 0.3.2 release page. Installers are still unsigned, and the release includes SHA-256 checksums, build provenance attestations, an SBOM, and the FFmpeg source. The download and library guide has folder locations and removal instructions.
